Words of Wisdom from "The Wise Guy"
"We do not think much about using live "lower" animals for our pedantic scientific studies; I'm in favor of doing so, so long as we obtain written or verbal informed consent from such subjects. Until such time, we're selfish, callous, and benighted."
  -- Jason Merchey

Values in Business
Segment 1 | Business owners and corporate decision-makers have values just like anyone else does. For better or for worse, commerce and industry are largely responsible for the state of the world in 2007. From the medication consumers need to the oil cars use, businesses are always there, behind the scenes or on the front page of the newspaper.    [^]

Voices of a People's History of the United States: How They Speak to Us Today
Segment 1 | On 4/19, Jason was lucky enough to interview Howard Zinn, co-author of Voices of a People's History of the United States. In this show, his luck holds, as he spent time speaking with Anthony Arnove, the man with whom Zinn edited the book. Dr. Arnove, who earned a doctorte of Modern Culture and Media at Brown University, shed some light on his fascinating and thoroughly-researched tome of essays and letters by some of America's brightest and most unsung heroes. In offering a bird's eye view of the unadulterated history of the United States, he can help us understand better where we're headed.    [^]

Volunteerism
Segment 1 | Volunteering is one of the best things one can do, both for one's self, and also for making a positive difference. Jason is happy to have had the opportunity to speak with Bob Alden. Bob is currently involved in Volunteer San Diego as president of the board of directors, a member of three committees, volunteer orienteer, project team leader, and volunteer. He has completed a whopping 2,300 hours of service with the organization. The show focused on volunteerism as a phenomenon, as well as examples of volunteering by taking Volunteer San Diego as a case in point.   [^]
